Antioxidant Screening

biophotonic scanner

A noninvasive device that can measure carotenoid levels in your skin. Within 60 seconds the scanner will give you a Skin Carotenoid Score (SCS) which is a reflection of your body's overall antioxidant status.

what are carotenoids?

Powerful antioxidants found in fruits and vegetables that help protect your cells from damage caused by free radicals and oxidative stress.

what contributes to oxidative stress?

Poor diet high is processed foods, and low in fruits and vegetables; high stress, both physical and emotional; extreme intensity workouts; poor sleep;  exposure to environmental toxins; radiation exposure including UV radiation from the sun; smoking; alcohol; obesity.

health conditions associated with oxidative stress

Cancer, Autoimmune disease, Heart disease, Metabolic Syndrome, Neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer's and Parkinson's, Cataracts, Age related macula degeneration, Aging skin

How can my carotenoid score help me?

Your SCS can give you valuable insight into your diet and lifestyle choices that may be impacting your overall health and risk for chronic diseases. After making diet and lifestyle changes you will be able to track your SCS every 6 weeks or more. It takes 4-6 weeks at a minimum for the carotenoids in your diet to become assimilated into your skin cells for retesting. It's safe for all ages, so the entire family can track their healthy eating results together!
